On 25th April 2015, an earthquake struck Central Nepal, with a magnitude of 7.8, killing more than 8,000 people and injuring more than 19,000. Continued aftershocks occurred killing more than 125 and injuring over 2,500. The country was in turmoil and many aid agencies were mobilized to help.
We received word from our Volunteers who were there, working in Nepal, that food and critical medical suppliers were in short supply and difficulty in reaching the areas affected the most. Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Teku, Kathmandu was one of the main centres where the survivors were treated.
With the aid of our Team in India we supplied 116 boxes of medicines, weighing 1900Kg which were shipped to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital as per their requirements helping with the rescue efforts.
